Decalcomania Temple is a philosophical and experimental project that tries to solve the problem of 'How can an architecture help to re-establish the identity of a city?' by analyzing and reflecting the modernized condition of today's Suwon, which was called 'The City of Water' when it was first constructed. Water's different wavelengths reacting to the depth that creates different images, a vertical cylinder/water purification system that can control the depth of water, reflective gimmicks such as columns and arches, a library that chronicles the history of Suwon, and a residency for local artisans, engineers, and artists all work as a harmonious composition, creating a square of water where visitors can experience the surreality inside the most realistic city.
